The Universal Systemless Interface!

I’ve been reading that during the rooting process, data is lost when you unlock the bootloader.

Before my Pixel, I hat a 5X and due to all the bootloop issues, unlocked my bootloader–to be safe, I now tend to unlock the bootloader on a new phone whenever I get it.

I’ve had my (OG) Pixel now for a year and Google Pay hasn’t worked and I’d love to get it working.

Since my bootloader on my Pixel is already unlocked, can I install Magisk and get root without losing any of my data?

If so, are there any good directions/instructions on how to do so?

Note: I don’t have TWRP or anything else “rooty” installed. Just plain Android w/ an unlocked bootloater.
